Eating Disorders
Do you have a difficult or complicated relationship with food? Does eating lead to shame and guilt or feeling out of control? Maybe life feels out of control and food is the only area of your life you feel you can maintain some control. Do you binge eat or have bulimia? Have you struggled with yo yo dieting for years and feel that dieting maybe is no longer the answer?
If you have you reached a time in your life where you feel something needs to change with your relationship with food and eating then you are warmly invited to contact me for a free informal discussion about your goals and to help you to decide if I am someone you feel comfortable to work with.
Taking that first step and seeking support can feel very scary, especially if food has been a way of managing one’s emotions. However please be assured that you will not be made to do anything you do not want to do. I feels passionately about supporting clients struggling with eating disorders and disordered eating and offer a safe, non-judgemental supportive space where we will work together at a pace that is comfortable for you to explore and to help empower you to overcome any challenges you may be experiencing and to help you achieve your goals.
I work using a client-focussed integrative approach, drawing on different tools from my toolbox tailored to support your individual needs and where we work in collaboration together, taking account of other areas of your life which may be causing stress or where food is being used as a way to manage emotions and distress.
In my experience clients are often struggling with many other issues alongside an eating disorder, such as anxiety, depression, shame, guilt, body image; confidence; trauma, relationship/family issues; grief/loss and supporting you with these challenges will be incorporated into our work together.
