Jacquie Haylett, Integrative Counsellor MBACP (Accred) & EMDR Therapist

About me

My name is Jacquie Haylett. I am an experienced integrative therapist and EMDR therapist. I am accredited with the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

I have always felt passionately about supporting people through difficult and challenging times and endeavour to work in collaboration with and empower clients in the best way possible to move forward in their life.

I am a trauma informed therapist and trained in EMDR with the EMDR Academy.

My childhood experience of growing up in a family where there was chronic illness and bereavement resulted in my strong desire to support others suffering from grief and loss.  To further my expertise in bereavement counselling I volunteered as counsellor within a Bereavement Support Team in addition to attending specialist training courses.

I also have a special interest in working with clients and their families who are seeking help with disordered eating patterns and eating disorders such as bulimia, binge eating and anorexia as well as supporting those with issues around body image and size. In addition to undertaking specialist training with the National Centre for Eating Disorders to further my knowledge and skills in this specialist area of work I volunteered as a counsellor at SWEDA (Somerset and Wessex Eating Disorder Association)

My personal experience of receiving counselling was life-changing and inspired me to retrain as a therapist.  I believe counselling to be one of the healthiest ways to work through life’s issues in a confidential, safe and supportive environment, something that most people would benefit from at some point in their life.

For many years I was employed as medical secretary to a psychiatrist and mental health team within the NHS before setting up in private practice as a therapist where I have a special interest in taking a holistic approach supporting people whose their mental and emotional health is impacting upon their physical health.

I attend as many training courses and CPD events as possible to keep myself up to date with current practice and continue my learning including:
