About counselling

Over the years I have observed how anybody can be affected by traumatic life changing events at any time. Often we do not seek help until reaching a point where we feel so overwhelmed we recognise that something needs to change.

In my experience people who attend for counselling have a wide range of expectations and needs.  Counselling can help to build confidence and self esteem, reduce anxiety, find new meanings and understanding of ourselves and our lives, reduce the power of past issues, and help you to feel more in control.  You may have a specific problem for which you are seeking help, or you may just have a vague sense of unease that something is troubling you.

I appreciate how much courage it can take for some people to make contact and wish to reassure you that I offer a safe space where you will feel supported, listened to, treated with respect, empathy and without judgement.

I feel passionately about working in collaboration with and empowering clients in the best way possible to move forward in life, supporting you to find resolution to whatever difficulties are troubling you which have brought you to counselling. You may require just a short term number of appointments or long term open ended sessions.

In addition to working with individuals and couples, I also work with both large and small businesses and HR departments who are seeking counselling support for their employees.

I am an approved therapy provider for several private health insurance companies including BUPA, WPA, Nuffield Health, Mind Right and Healix
